Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine is a comprehensive system of health care that focuses on finding the origin of body’s imbalance.  Naturopathic Medicine incorporates traditional as well as the newest therapies to treat the underlying cause of the individual’s condition.

Naturopathic physicians design a therapeutic lifestyle for the individual and aim to prevent development of illnesses.  They also provide treatments for acute and chronic conditions using individualized therapies.  Naturopathic physicians have access to various tools such as laboratory assessments to determine the appropriate types of treatments.

Kinds of Treatments

About Bowen Therapy

The Bowen Technique is a type of soft-tissue manipulation developed in Geelong, Australia by Thomas A. Bowen (1916- 1982). Each treatment of this gentle, yet powerful technique involves a set of maneuvers on tendons, muscles, and nerves, interrupted by short pauses.   The Bowen therapy will encourage the body to reset and re-balance itself.

The Bowen Technique has a wide variety of indications from acute sports traumas to chronic conditions. In essence, it allows the body’s self-healing energy to thrive, often improving joint mobility and increasing venous and lymphatic circulation. The Bowen Technique can be used on everyone from infants to the elderly, as it is non-invasive and very mild.

Conditions that may really benefit from the Bowen Technique include:

  • Respiratory system: asthma, hay fever, sinusitis, allergies
  • Gynecological system: infertility, PMS, mastitis, and dysmenorrheal
  • Digestive system: constipation, crohn’s disease and colic.
  • Musculoskeletal problems: frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, TMJ, knee and hip restriction, pelvis problems, sciatica, plantar fascitis, and scoliosis.
  • Other conditions: earache and ear infections, bed-wetting, hemorrhoids
