What is BIA? (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis)
What Is BIA?
Remember when you were in highschool and your gym teacher took out the ‘calipers’, pinched what little fat he or she could find on your body and announced your ‘fat’ to ‘muscle’ ratio? Well, things have changed in the last twenty years.
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)
It is a measure of your lean body mass to your body fat. Through this procedure, BIA also shows many other health parameters such as your BMI (Body Mass Index) and total body water. The amount of time it takes is 5 minutes and the results are much more accurate than an arbitrary squeeze.
- How much lean body mass vs. body fat you have
- How much your toxic burden is
- If you are drinking adequate amount of water
- How many calories you are burning at rest
- If you are losing or gaining muscle mass or fat
- How healthy your cells are
- Excess body fat can significantly increase the risk of diabetes, cancer and heart disease.
- Your BIA Assessment will be used to create a comprehensive treat plan to address your current health concerns and to optimize your health and well-being.
This quick 5-minute assessment will reveal:
- Future BIA readings will be scheduled regularly to show your state of health and how well you are responding to the naturopathic therapies.
